What’s your role at Beacham Group?
I am the Operations Manager at Beacham Group; I look after all “back office” functions of the business. My days generally consists of dealing with our on hire contractors and the clients who contract them, ensuring our compliance in areas such a privacy, right to work, workplace health and safety, marketing, supplier and service provider management, reporting and finance.
What do you love most about your role at Beacham Group?
I love sharing the successes of our recruiters when they find our candidates great new roles. It’s fulfilling knowing I play apart in the process giving our recruiters the tools to provide the excellent customer service that we are known for.
I also love working for Beacham Group as they are very understanding that my family are my number one priority always. It makes it easier being a part time employee who is also a mum with younger children at home that bit easier with a very understanding and flexible employer.
What is your biggest career highlight?
Recently being nominated by the APSCo committee (recruitment industry body) as a national finalist in Awards of Excellence of Risk Management. Also, being presented with our quality assurance certificate on stage at the APSCo awards dinner as the first business to attain the Talent Management Standard. We pride ourselves on our compliance and the service we deliver, so it’s rewarding to be recognised for the efforts we put into these areas.
What’s your background?
I was born in Perth and grew up in the foothills; I still live in the area today with my husband, our 6 year old twins and our 12 year old Kings Charles Cavalier.
Professionally, I started my career in recruitment back in 2005 and have worked in the industry ever since. One of my career highlights would be my work I did as the National Administration Manager for GenerationOne (formally Australian Employment Covenant), Andrew Forrest’s 50,000 jobs campaign for Indigenous Australians. Witnessing the change we saw when training participants were guaranteed a job at completion of training was rewarding. Lives of not just individuals, but whole families were being changed.
Where’s your favourite place in the world?
The most favourite place I have visited is Koh Samui. The people are lovely, the island is beautiful, and my idea of a dream holiday is laying on a beach not doing a lot, so perfect for me!
What do you enjoying doing when you’re not working?
As a family we love taking off on long weekends and school holidays in our caravan and exploring this great state. Our caravan is affectionately known as “Scruffy”, a name given to it by its original owners that has stuck albeit the renovations and improvements we have done to the 40 year old van!
I love sports which is something I inherited from my parents, both being talented sportspeople themselves when they were younger. I’m lucky that my husband and children love sports just as much as I do. AFL, cricket, netball, gymnastics just to name a few of the sports we follow or participate in.
I also volunteer at my children’s school, holding positions on both the school board and P&C. I like being able to give back to the school and community and my children are still at an age where they love me doing it and being involved at school.
If you could have one superpower, what would it be?
I would love to be able to time travel. I would go back to that first year of my twins life to just sit and adore them, which is something I didn’t feel I didn’t have much time for in the first year of their lives!
