Summary & Overview:

This candidate is an experienced Solution Architect / Technical Lead with 20+ years across enterprise integration, data platforms, software engineering and digital transformation. Their background spans energy, oil & gas, critical infrastructure, government, transport and banking, with strong hands-on capability across AWS, Azure, Open Subsurface Data Universe, Java/Spring Boot, microservices, REST APIs, Kafka, Airflow, Kubernetes and CI/CD.

Most recently, they have been consulting with an upstream solutions organisation in Perth, supporting an internally developed solution and delivering new integration/data-model features. This engagement finished at the end of August, and they are targeting Solution Architect, Technical Lead or Technical Delivery opportunities.

Why hire:

The candidate combines architecture with hands-on technical delivery, allowing them to translate business requirements into practical solutions while remaining close to engineering teams. Major projects include an OSDU subsurface data platform, an oil & gas lifecycle platform, railway infrastructure systems and a cloud-native digital banking transformation. They have strong experience designing real-time integrations, automated data pipelines and enterprise integration architectures, while also leading workshops, mentoring developers and governing technical delivery.

Areas for development/review:

The candidate's strongest positioning is in Solution Architecture and technical leadership, particularly in integration, data and cloud-heavy environments. They are open to technical delivery positions but would ideally continue utilising their architecture experience rather than moving into purely support-focused work.

Education and Certifications:

BSc Electrical Engineering. Their technical expertise includes AWS/Azure, OSDU, Apache Airflow, Kafka, REST APIs, microservices, Java/Spring Boot, PostgreSQL/Oracle, AWS EKS, GitHub Actions, GitLab, Jenkins and ArgoCD.

Availability and remuneration expectations:

They are available from September onwards. They are open to permanent or contract opportunities, with remuneration dependent on the scope and seniority of the role. Based in Joondalup, they have no significant restrictions around commuting across Perth.
