Hands-on AI & Automation Lead responsible for driving the practical adoption of AI, automation and smarter workflows across the insurance sector.

About the Role:
This is a newly created role for a technically capable AI & Automation specialist, developer or automation engineer to drive the practical adoption of AI and automation across the insurance broking sector.
The role will focus on improving end-to-end broking workflows, including enquiries, processes and document management, while identifying opportunities to reduce manual work and improve efficiency. The successful candidate will own the AI and automation roadmap and turn opportunities into practical, measurable solutions.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Own and develop the business's AI and automation roadmap.
- Identify and prioritise practical AI, automation and workflow opportunities.
- Develop solutions across Salesforce, Microsoft 365 and business systems.
- Recommend new AI tools and vendors and assess solutions for value, security and maintainability.
- Establish practical AI governance, data privacy rules and safe-use guidelines.
- Support the adoption of approved AI and automation tools across the business.
- Create documentation and Standard Operating Procedures for new automated workflows.
- Measure time savings, efficiency improvements and business impact.
- Strong experience across building automation, AI-enabled workflows, integrations and process improvement.
- AI workflow development and prompting experience, including working with AI APIs or platforms such as OpenAI, Microsoft Copilot Studio, Azure AI or similar.
- Experience integrating REST APIs, including API authentication using API keys and OAuth, and the ability to interpret API documentation and securely manage tokens and credentials.
- Scripting and automation experience using JavaScript/ TypeScript and Python.
- Microsoft 365 technical capability including Power Platform, Microsoft Graph API and Copilot/ Copilot Studio.
- Strong awareness of data privacy, secure API usage, credentials, access controls and responsible AI.
- Experience with Salesforce, Power Apps, Azure Functions, AWS Lambda or similar technologies.
- Experience within insurance or insurance broking
- Experience in regulated, data-sensitive or professional services environments
