About the Role:
Our client is seeking an experienced Professional Services General Manager to lead operational excellence and organisational capability as they scale a small team over the next few years. Working as part of the senior leadership team, you’ll own day-to-day operations, people and capability, client delivery success and the systems that underpin their reputation for technical excellence and client satisfaction.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Operational Leadership
- Lead day-to-day operations across consulting practices, delivering projects in the Microsoft and Atlassian ecosystems, and advisory engagements
- Oversee resource allocation and utilisation across a team of consultants and delivery leads
- Manage operational budgets, KPIs, quality standards, governance and risk frameworks
- Ensure consistent delivery excellence across all client projects and partnerships
- Foster a high-performance, collaborative culture
- Own the full employee lifecycle: workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, development, succession and performance
- Partner with senior leadership on growth hiring and maintaining a warm bench of talent
- Contribute to annual planning and execute strategic initiatives
- Drive operational improvements to support margin optimisation and scalable growth
- Implement pragmatic systems, tools and processes to enable data-driven decision making
- Support business development through operational readiness and delivery confidence
- Represent the client in the Perth technology community and professional networks
- Build senior relationships with clients, partners and suppliers
- Own end-to-end tender responses and contribute to proposal review and approval
- Support early client engagements and identify opportunities for follow-on work
- Scalable operations supporting growth
- Strong utilisation, margin performance and delivery KPIs
- High employee engagement, retention and leadership capability across practices
- Consistent, high-quality client delivery and satisfaction

You’re a delivery-focused, hands-on leader who thrives in a growing professional services environment. You balance strategic thinking with operational detail, bring people with you through change and are comfortable spanning delivery, leadership and business development.
Must-Have Skills & Experience:
- 7-11+ years’ progressive operational management experience, including 3-7+ years in senior leadership
- Proven success leading operations in a technology consultancy or professional services firm
- Strong commercial acumen (P&L, margins, utilisation, financial controls)
- Deep understanding of IT consulting delivery models and the Microsoft ecosystem
- Exceptional people leadership, coaching and stakeholder management skills
- Background in data, development or architecture with digital transformation delivery
- Experience reviewing tenders and leading high-level client technology discussions
- Change leadership across organisational design, process improvement and culture
